TODAY IS A WHITE DAY
- There is no 7th grade band or 8th grade lessons today as Mrs. Baker Roux is out. Band and lessons will resume as scheduled tomorrow.
- Today is a 6th grade lesson day. LC6 trumpets will have a lesson at 8:35 and LC6 clarinets have a lesson at 10:10.
- Today is an 8th grade chorus day.
All 6th, 7th and 8th grade chorus students are to go to the music room at 8:25 this morning for the trip to the high school.
- The Civil Rights team meets today, after school, in Room 6. Our mission is to make our community more inclusive for everyone. New members always welcome. Join us today to learn about the Civil Rights Team Project writing & visual arts contest.
- Chess Club will be held in Mr. Pyle's room 23, from 2-3.
- Mechanical Advantage Club meets in room 39 from 2-3:15. Anyone interested in building an underwater remotely operated vehicle is invited to check out the SeaPerch project.
- Sign ups for this week’s cooking club are in the library!
- Please help the Animal Welfare Society by donating, food, treats, and more. Your kindness will help bring love, companionship, and happiness to thousands of homes every year! Look for our posters and donation boxes in guidance, the office and library. Thank you!
- BE THE CHANGE-Challenge yourself to say hi to five different people you don't know.
- The 2019 Pay it Forward Penny drive has officially begun. This year we are raising money for Angie, an awesome woman from Peru with two sons who all now live here in Sanford. Ask your teachers to read her story to you and show you her picture! We are also collecting bottles this year!! Every homeroom is challenged to collect one bag full of bottles. The money raised from the bottles will go to help start a food program for the special needs school Angie worked at in Peru. Your teachers have pictures of the school too! This is going to be an amazing surprise for Angie when we have the assembly! Lets rock this SJHS!
- Spring Sports Sign-Ups are finally here!!! If you are a 7th or 8th grader interested in trying out for baseball, softball or track this year, the Spring Sports Sign-Ups will be up in the cafe all week. The informational sports meetings for baseball and softball will be on Tuesday March 26th from 2:10-2:40 to meet with the coaches and to get the necessary paperwork needed in order to try out. Meeting locations will be announced and posted next week.
