Today is a WHITE Day!

 Good morning SMS!

     • Have you ever noticed the raised dots on the plaques outside of your classrooms? Those dots are called Braille and they spell out the words and numbers written on the plaques for blind or visually-impaired people to read.

    • World Braille Day, celebrated since 2019, is observed to raise awareness of the importance of Braille as a means of accessibility and independence for the blind or visually-impaired community.

    • World Braille Day is January 4th because it is the birthday of Louis Braille, the inventor of Braille!

Thank you for bringing awareness to World Braille Day with the Sanford Middle School Civil Rights Team!
