*5th grade chorus meets today

*Shrek rehearsal today until 4.

*The field hockey game had an amazing win yesterday over Kennebunk by a score of 7-0. Six different players had goals and we were so excited to see the varsity team cheering on from the sidelines.

*Are you looking for a great way to meet new people, make lasting friendships, and help build a more inclusive school? Then we have some exciting news for you! We are officially launching a brand-new Best Buddies chapter right here at our school! Best Buddies is an international organization dedicated to creating one-to-one friendships between students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is all about hanging out, having fun, and making sure everyone feels included. Our very first informational meeting will be held on Monday, November 2nd during Spartan Time in the Cafe. Come learn what we are all about, meet the officers, and grab some snacks! Absolutely everyone is welcome. If you can’t make it but still want to join, please see Ms. Greene Lamb in 1238 or have your homeroom teacher email Ms. Greene Lamb your name. Let’s make Sanford Middle School a place where everyone belongs. See you there!

*SMS Times Group Schedule Update Please note that the SMS Times group will not meet this Thursday, 10/22, or next Tuesday, 10/27. We will resume with our next group meeting on Thursday, 10/29.

*Ever had a dream where you weren't sure if it was real or not? This year's haunted woods event put on by the JMG students is called Distorted Dreams! The scares start at 6 PM on Wednesday, 10/28! Admission is $5 per trip through the woods, and concessions will be available for purchase. Once you’ve survived the woods, you will need to head home... or get back in line and pay to face the nightmares again! Students may not stay just to hang out at the park, including at the upper gazebo. Respectful language and behavior are required in line and in the woods. Students who cannot meet these expectations will be sent home and will face school consequences. Lets keep it fun and respectful so we can keep holding fun events at SMS!

*Want school to be a place where everyone feels safe, welcome and respected for who they are?

Civil Rights Team will meet after school today from 2:20-3:20 in Room 1208 with Ms. McGuckin.  We look forward to seeing you- new members are always welcome!
