Today is Friday September 11th, and it is a WHITE DAY.
Good morning, Spartans.
* Today, we take a few moments to remember September 11, 2001. This year marks the 25th anniversary of that day.
September 11 is a day in our history that affected our entire country and people around the world. Many people lost their lives, including firefighters, police officers, first responders, and everyday citizens who were simply going about their day. Many families also lost loved ones, and countless people have carried the memories and impact of that day with them for 25 years.
While today is a day to remember those we lost, it is also a day to recognize the very best in people—courage, kindness, helping others, and coming together as a community during difficult times.
As Spartans, we can honor those who were affected by September 11 by treating one another with respect, looking out for each other, and choosing to be kind whenever we have the opportunity.
Throughout the day, you may have conversations, activities, or learning opportunities in some of your classes that focus on September 11 and its impact on our country and our world. These are opportunities to learn more about an important part of our history, ask questions, listen to others, and reflect in your own way.
We remember those who lost their lives. We remember the families and communities who were forever changed. And we are grateful for the people who stepped forward to help others.
Please take a quiet moment today to remember, reflect, and appreciate the people around you.
* Attention students, just a reminder in terms of hats and hoods. During PE class and intramurals in the morning you should not be wearing hats and hoods as this presents a safety issue. If you have any questions please see Mr. Mastraccio, Mr. Edgar, or Ms. Pendleton.
* 7th and 8th grade boys soccer practice is canceled today. Game at Kennebunk on Monday the bus will leave right after school. All other sports teams have practice today!
* STEAM team will start Tuesday, September 22. You will need a permission slip to attend. If you would like more information or a permission slip please see Mrs. Williams in the library.
