Food Serving Size Awareness in Health Class

In Health Class this week with Mrs. Pinette, 5th grade students learned more about serving sizes for "slow, go, and woah" foods. They were given an amount of "Goldfish" crackers (a "slow" food) and had to figure out how many servings it was, and in relation to that, the amount of sodium, fats and calories. This activity was to bring awareness to the amounts we actually eat versus the recommended serving amount. It was an eye-opening and fun hands-on activity!
