On November 6th and 7th, ten SJHS 8th grade students traveled to Bangor, ME to attend the two day 2019 Maine Youth Action Network's Leadership Summit. The students were sponsored to attend by Partners for Healthier Communities and Strategies for a Stronger Sanford.
This conference brings together youth leaders in middle and high schools, from Maine and beyond, and their adult partners, who are working together to create positive change within our state and world.
While at the conference, MYAN presents one group and one individual with the "Catalyst for Change" award. This award is presented to those who take action within their community and/or state and push for positive change. I am so proud to announce that Valerie Randall was recognized out of the 300+ students that attended! Congratulations Valerie!
The JMG students are so thankful that they were able to attend this conference with the help of Strategies and PHC. The represented Sanford well!
