*Mrs. Ames is out today and all of her band classes are cancelled.
*7th and 8th grade beginner lesson groups change starting today in preparation for band fest! 7th Grade Wood wind beginners will be block 1, 8th grade band beginners block 2, trumpet beginners block 3, and trombone beginners block 4! Teachers, updated lesson rosters should be in your email!
*The attendance contest is in full swing!
Yesterday's progress was:
Grade 5 is leading with Allaire and Wilson out ahead with 98%
Grade 6 is in 2nd place with LC 7 out in front of the pack with 94%
Grade 7 is in 3rd place with LC 5 leading the way with 91%
and grade 8 is holding steady with LC 3 at the top of that pack at 90%

*LAST CALL for audition sign-ups for Sanford's Got Talent 2024!!! Only 2 spots left! Looking for gymnasts, singers, bands, comedians, poets, dancers -- we want to see your act. $100 cash prize for first place! Cash prizes down to fourth. Get your audition form to Mrs. Houle ASAP in room 1232. Audition forms cannot be handed in after Wednesday. Auditions are next week - those acts with auditions scheduled for next week, make sure you're practicing and prepared for your audition!
*PTA Butter Braid Fundraiser is under way! Sales will continue through February 26th.
*Calling all Chefs! Cooking club will be holding its first session on Thursday, Feb. 8th in room 1238 (near the JMG classroom). We are limiting attendance to the first 10 people who sign up. If you really want to participate but cannot make it on Thursday, there will be weekly cooking club sessions. If you are interested in signing up, please see Mrs. Allen upstairs in room 2220 or Ms. Lynn in room in 1241. You must have a ride available at 3:30 or plan to take the late bus.
*Have you sent a mystery book valentine yet? The form will close at the end of the day Wednesday. See Mrs. Williams for more information.
*Ski Bus is coming to SMS!! Stop by the office for an informational packet to bring home. Space is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis. There are 4 dates scheduled for ski bus at Pleasant Mountain.
