RED DAY!
*Student Leadership Dance for 7th and 8th graders is TONIGHT! 5:00-6:30pm! $5 Admission and Concessions available for purchase!
*Today is National Wear Red Day. This is a nationally recognized day to bring awareness to cardiovascular disease. February is also American Heart Month.❤ Today we are wearing red to raise awareness for healthy hearts! Cardiovascular disease is a group of diseases affecting your heart and blood vessels. It is the leading cause of death in the US and worldwide. Almost half of adults in the US have some form of cardiovascular disease. 1 in 3 women dies from cardiovascular disease. However, cardiovascular disease can be prevented! Today we are wearing red to spread awareness in hopes of promoting heart-healthier students and staff!
*Reminder that Sanford's Got Talent Audition slots are filling fast! There's a few spots left so be sure to get your audition forms in to Mrs. Houle in room 1232 this week! $100 Cash prize for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for 3rd and 4th! Comedians, magicians, dancers, singers, hula hoopers, all talents are welcome!!
*Vocal rehearsal for Annie Jr will be in Mr. Bellefeuille’s room today after school until 3:30. All cast should check Google Classroom for an announcement and updates.
*Where are my readers? Every year students can read and vote for the Maine Student Book Award. You only need to read 3 of the nominated titles in order to vote. See Mrs. Williams for a bookmark with all the titles.
*Would you like to send a book recommendation to a friend? Participate in the Mystery Valentine book exchange. More information can be found at the Library Google classroom at wom4zmh or on posters throughout the building.
*Tryouts for volleyball and wrestling will begin next Tuesday from 2:30-4:00. All paperwork should be brought to tryouts
*Today is a full 5th grade chorus day. Attendance is mandatory! We are quickly approaching our next concert! See you in the cafe!
*Today is a 6th Grade Chorus day. It is also a Chorus day for 7th Grade students who are in band. We will meet in the upstairs music room following announcements.
*Here are the results of the 1st day of the attendance challenge!
1st place goes to grade 5 with 96% of students attending! 2nd place goes to grade 7 with 92% of students attending! and 3rd place goes to grade 8 with 91% of students attending. The full school total is....92% students in attendance! It's a great start keep it up and watch the daily totals change in the display case near the cafe.
*The student leadership Winter art contest will be extended to next Friday February 9th. Any winter themed drawing or painting is accepted! We only have a few submissions and we know that Sanford's Got Talent!!! You can give your drawing to your homeroom teacher or bring it up to Mrs. Brown's room 2217 in the yellow wing. $10 amazon gift cards to the winner in each grade level...and teachers we've got a space for you too! Let your creativity shine!!
