Today is a RED Day
*8th graders will be taking a field trip to Casco Bay today! Please wait for the announcement around 8:30 to board the busses. Let’s be on our best behavior so we can continue to do these fun trips!
*Endangered Animals Club will meet after school today in Mr. Willinski's Room. This will be our LAST meeting!
*Art Club will meet on Thursday this week until 3:30. The final Art Club meeting of the year will be on Thursday, June 1st.
*The Civil Rights Team will have its last meeting today! All members past and present are welcome to come.
*ATTENTION TRACK TEAM: GIRLS: you will be dismissed at 1:45 to change up and report to the bus lane for a 2:00 departure!
BOYS: you will report to the gym to change when parent pickup is called and sit in the gym to wait for the bus to return from Massabesic to get you!
*Although you can still check out library books a little longer, it is time to get some of them back, especially if they are overdue. Please check your backpacks, under your bed, on your bookshelves, on your teacher's bookshelves, and so on. There are currently over 2,000 books checked out and over 1,000 are overdue.
*There will be no 6th and 7th grade chorus today because Mr. Pietruch is going to the elementary school to meet with 4th grade chorus students. We will meet on Friday. Have a great day!
*Congratulations to the 8th grade girls Softball team for another win last night against Saco 10-7. Best of luck against Massabesic on Friday!
*During the month of May, SMS is focusing on the theme of respect. We are holding a creative contest with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners that answers the question: what does respect mean to you? You can do a drawing, poem, video, photograph, essay, sculpture or any other creative piece to represent respect. Creative pieces need to be submitted to your school counselor by Friday May 26th and winners will be announced the following week. Good Luck!
*Wednesday, May 24th is Mental Health Awareness Day. Everyone struggles sometimes for many different reasons. Sometimes we can use our coping skills like deep breaths, exercise, art, writing, and anything else that helps keep you calm. At Sanford Middle School, there are, also, counselors and social workers here to help with things get too overwhelming. To show your support for Mental Health Awareness Day, please wear green or yellow on Wednesday the 24th. Green represents mental health awareness and yellow represents hope, positivity, and that things can get better with help. We can't wait to see all the green and yellow on Wednesday!
