*During the month of May, SMS is focusing on the theme of respect. We are holding a creative contest with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners that answers the question: what does respect mean to you? You can do a drawing, poem, video, photograph, essay, sculpture or any other creative piece to represent respect. Creative pieces need to be submitted to your school counselor by Friday May 26th and winners will be announced the following week. Good Luck!
*Wednesday, May 24th is Mental Health Awareness Day. Everyone struggles sometimes for many different reasons. Sometimes we can use our coping skills like deep breaths, exercise, art, writing, and anything else that helps keep you calm. At Sanford Middle School, there are, also, counselors and social workers here to help with things get too overwhelming. To show your support for Mental Health Awareness Day, please wear green or yellow on Wednesday the 24th. Green represents mental health awareness and yellow represents hope, positivity, and that things can get better with help. We can't wait to see all the green and yellow on Wednesday!
