Paul Revere's Ride

From Mr. Benham, the Gifted and Talented Teacher...

If you have spent any time learning about the American Revolution, you have most likely heard of Paul Revere.  Among other things, Paul Revere is famous for his "Midnight Ride."  Did you know he wasn't alone?  Two other riders, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott, also took part in the heroic mission to warn colonists of a British attack.  So why aren't Dawes and Prescott given the same credit as Revere?  JT and Sam worked through one mathematical reason.  By using the distance of each rider, approximate speed, and time that each rider left Boston, they calculated that William Dawes would have arrived in Lexington slightly later than Paul Revere.  In the words of these students, "the warning was old news when Dawes arrived."  JT and Sam are also using LittleBits to recreate the Midnight Ride by adjusting the speed of the riders to better show how Dawes was left in the dust literally, and figuratively speaking through history.
