Book Club ( 4th grade)
In November I started a book club in the library with a small group of 4th graders. I chose the book "Take A Stand Rosa Parks". In this book, the life of Rosa Parks is shared; her struggles, the time she spent with her grandparents, and most of all the stance she took for her right to ride the bus.
Throughout our reading, my group discussed the chapters and how they would feel in Rosa's life. Students were very engaged in our discussion of each chapter and shared how things are different today.
To conclude the book club my students created "dioramas" from a chapter in the book. Enjoy viewing these students wonderful writing and work.
