The story of how Mrs. Curtis and her fourth grade class got to be Partners in Peace with a classroom all the way over in GENEVA, SWITZERLAND in EUROPE!...
I (Mrs. Curtis)made contact with their teacher over the summer via a Facebook teaching group. Her class (a 4th grade class at the International School of Geneva in Geneva, Switzerland) wrote to us (snail mail) for International Peace Day on Sept. 21.
They told us about Peace Day, and sent us a link to a video about it. They sent their brainstorms about what peace is and isn’t and sent us photos of the peace flags they designed. It took their letter a month to get here. We received it on Oct. 22.
We then brainstormed our own ideas about peace, designed our own peace flags and sent a letter back this week. The bulletin board has all the flags, brainstorm ideas and letters.
