Check out our Good News from our specialists team...

In Health, K to 2 students are beginning to explore the importance of healthy eating and physical activity and students in grade 3 and 4 are finishing up their unit on stress management. Students are going to start learning about and watching Canada's National sport, Lacrosse and it's Indigenous origins!

In art class, students are working hard to finish up their current projects before choosing which ones go into the art show. Once they have chosen (and some have already!) they will be spending the next few weeks, editing, mounting, writing artist statements' and preparing their works to be displayed on April 10th, 11th, and 13th.

SPE sledding days were a great success! We're looking forward to having more all-school activities in the future. In Phys. Ed, students are going to be introduced to Canadian and Native American culture through the sport of lacrosse (the sport was created by Native Americans and is Canada's national sport).

The 4th Grade Chorus participated in Sanford's Spring Sing event on March 1st. They sang "Step By Step" along with the CJL and MCS choruses, and also performed "Fireflies" with all chorus students from elementary school, middle school, and high school. Our Chorus did a fabulous job and represented our school well. Way to go, Chorus!

This year, music concerts, SPE Cultural Celebration, and the Art Show will be combined into large evening events. More information will be sent home soon. Please be sure to save these event dates:
Monday, April 10th: Kindergarten and 1st Grade
Tuesday, April 11th: 2nd and 3rd Grade
Thursday, April 13th: 4th Grade
