The Sanford School Department provided funds for every student to get a free book for the summer.
Last week, with the help of Literary Coaches Marie Sclafani and Christy Crowley, each school hosted their book swap.
A variety of books were purchased in various fiction genres, nonfiction, and graphic novels.
Students came in all week to pick their free books.
At the middle school, almost every 5th-grader was picking out their book in the library on Friday morning.
