During Mrs. Gillis' current Mystery Science unit at Margaret Chase Smith, students have been learning about Material Magic- Properties of different materials.
Students had to create buildings with index cards and paper clips.
They were encouraged to challenge themselves by folding/cutting the cards to strengthen the paper.
Their first challenge was to build a tall tower as tall as their ruler.
The second challenge was to build a 6-inch building sturdy enough to hold a hardcover book!
Some even challenged themselves further to see if their building could hold a dictionary!
