Carl J. Lamb kindergarteners in Mrs. Wechter’s and Mrs. Brann’s classes celebrated their work with families at their K For ME Showcase last week!
Carl J. Lamb Pre-K and Kindergarten students participated in this week's collaborative art and music lesson on the Lunar New Year.
Students made dragon masks in art and learned about traditional Chinese music, dances, and instruments in music class.
Their learning was celebrated with a parade throughout the halls this morning!

Carl J. Lamb’s art club drew and painted Bluey, a beloved Disney character. They learned about lines, shapes, foreground, background, and color mixing.
Carl J. Lamb third graders in Mrs. Lederer’s class earned a slime party as a class reward for good behavior. They had to use their math skills to multiply a recipe to figure out how to make enough slime for the number of members in their group.
Good afternoon, Here is this week's edition of the CJL Principal's Newsletter https://5il.co/2dm1r. Tuesday, fifty students who were randomly selected for us will participate in NAEP testing. NAEP stands for the National Assessment of Educational Progress and is the largest nationally representative assessment of what U.S. students know and can do in reading and math. Results will be shared at the state level. We will not receive results for our school. We consider our NWEA testing to be much more important as the NWEA gives teachers individualized student strengths and areas to be developed. Please encourage your student to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, pack a water bottle, and to try their very best, but not to stress. We'll be proud of their best effort. Excellent attendance helps to improve student achievement. Have a great week!
When it’s too cold to go outside, Carl J. Lamb Pre-K students bring in snow to paint and play with. They also created finger paint tracks to go along with their new book of the week, The Snowy Day!
Mrs. Niland’s 4th graders at Carl J. Lamb wrapped up their poetry unit with an author’s celebration during which her poets presented their original pieces to a very impressed audience!

This is another reminder that Carl J. Lamb is having its "Be Our Guest Dance" for CJL families TONIGHT from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Students and their families are invited to dress their best for an evening of music, dancing, crafts, and more! Admission is free. There will be concessions for a small fee.
Good morning, Please join us tonight 5:30-7pm for our CJL PTA Be Our Guest Dance for CJL families. It is a free event. There will be concessions for a small fee (pizza and hot dogs too). So dress your best and come join us for an evening of dancing, karaoke, activities in the gym, and a Photo Booth! It’s sure to be a great time! Bake sale items may be delivered during the school day or brought to the event at 5:30pm. Thank you to all our volunteers and donors who are making this event possible! Can’t wait to see you!

Nominations can be made through a form on the Maine Teacher of the Year Website from now until 5:00 p.m. on January 31st, 2024. They are accepted by students, parents, caregivers, community members, school administrators, colleagues, college faculty members, and associations/organizations.
