Looking up to big brother
Here is this week's CJL Newsletter. https://5il.co/3d7ri. We have a spirit week next week. There is no school the week of the 21st. We need your help with a safety concern; at parent drop off and pick up all parents, guardians, staff, and students must use the crosswalks on campus and avoid cutting through the bus loop to and from your cars. We appreciate your help.

📚✏️ THANK YOU to all the families who joined us for our Kindergarten Exploration Event last Thursday! We were thrilled to welcome over 50 families across Carl J. Lamb, Margaret Chase Smith, and Sanford Pride Elementary Schools. It was wonderful seeing our future kindergarteners exploring classrooms, meeting teachers, and getting comfortable in their new schools! The smiles and excitement were contagious! 📣 REMINDER: If you couldn't make it to the event, it's not too late to register your child for kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year!

Carl J. Lamb Elementary School recently hosted the first-ever Maine Adaptive Music Summit, bringing together music teachers, special educators, and educational technicians to collaborate on better supporting students in adaptive music programs. The summit featured sessions on sensory processing, emotional regulation, and strategies for making music accessible to every child. Principal Sherri Baron noted, "Several participants said this summit provided the most comprehensive professional development they had ever received on adaptive music education." What does this mean for your child? Better collaboration between all the adults in their school day and consistent support across all learning environments. Check out our full article to learn more about this exciting initiative that's helping make sure every child can experience the joy of music! https://www.sanford.org/article/2097215

PK-4 students at Carl J. Lamb Elementary School took a special field trip to the music room to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, where they were immersed in the traditions of Irish music. During this interactive presentation, students learned an Irish dance, practiced a common phrase in the Irish language, and explored traditional Irish instruments. From lively jigs to the sounds of instruments like the tin whistle and bodhrán, the students gained a deeper appreciation for Irish culture.
