Pictured are some of MCS's 1st grade Super Heroes.

Margaret Chase Smith's first graders had the excellent opportunity to be involved in the YMCA's Core Value Super Hero Program.  This spring our first graders received weekly lessons around the importance of our core values.  This eight week program was delivered by Matt Ouellette from our local YMCA and several of his staff members.  To conclude their program each student came up with a super hero name; identified the core value they would defend; and chose two super powers he/she possessed.  Each student created a mask and cape that helped identify his/her core value and super powers.  Then today, June 10th, the first graders shared what their special powers are with their parents and guests.  The ceremony ended with each first grader receiving a certificate for completing the Core Value Super Hero Program.
