Attention Seniors!!! On Friday, September 16th, School Counseling will be giving presentations to kickstart the college and career planning process.  All seniors should plan to attend one of these sessions.

*Seniors interested in attending a 2 or 4-year college will go to the PAC.

*Seniors interested in joining the military or the World of work will go to the Agora

Pep Club is looking for students to vote on the themes for the games during Homecoming week by filling out this survey. This is not for the Spirit days but for Game Night Themes for Soccer/Field Hockey/ & Volleyball games!

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

 

Theater Club- Forms for the fall production of CLUE can be picked up from Mrs Baker in room E212.

 

Environmental Club will meet every 3rd Tuesday of the month during Spartan Time in E222 with Ms. Trafelet.  Kids need to sign up with their Spartan Time teacher.

Ocean Bowl will meet every 2nd Tuesday of the month during Spartan Tim with Ms. Trafelet..  Kids need to sign up with their Spartan Time teacher.

Chamber Singers will meet on Fridays from 2:30-4:00pm.  See Mr. LaBerge for more info

Health and Wellness Club will run every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the weight room right after school.

Chess & Cribbage Club will be held on Tuesdays from 2:10-3:10 in D222

SHS Peer Helpers meet ever Friday MORNING @ 7:30am in the small café beginning 9/16

Math Team will meet Tuesdays right after school in D243 beginning 9/13

D&D Club will have an interest meeting on Friday, Sept. 9 in D242

Interested in Marching Band, Pep Band, Winter Guard and Percussion or Jazz Band please see Ms. Francoeur in B142

PEP Club will meet Tuesdays after school in C224 to plan homecoming events until 3:00!

The Spartan Times will meet during Block 5 or Spartan in D130.  See Ms. Foley for more info.

GSTA will meet every Tuesday after school in B237

Future Educators of America will meet the second Tuesday of each month @ 2:30 in D-113

Diversity Committee will meet the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month in E121

Book Club will meet Tuesdays, during Spartan Time, in the Library.

Art Club  Need some creative time to unwind after school? Join us for Art Club every Thursday after school until 3:15. Everyone is welcome!  Ms. Monroe's room B147

Community Service Opportunities

Looking for COMMUNITY SERVICE? GOING to the HOME VARSITY FOOTBALL GAMES? Please see Mrs. Farrell in A234 (leave a note if she is not there) or email dfarrell@sanford.org to find out how Project Graduation could use your help at the games. This is an easy and fun way to earn some hours! 

Turning Over A New Leaf is holding a fall festival at Number One Pond on September 24 from 11-3 and are in need of volunteers who are interested in helping out.  If interested please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237.

Book sale volunteers are needed to move books on Wednesday September 21 from 3:30-5:30 pm and Saturday, September 24, 2-4:30 pm. To sign up, go to the Springvale Library's website or email  sdube@springvalelibrary.org

Random Fact of the Day:  Male rabbits are called bucks.

 

Life Hacks from your school nurse:  It's recently been proven that eating chocolate at least 5 times a week can reduce the risk of heart related disease by 60%. There are obviously a lot of downfalls to eating chocolate in big quantities, but it's good to know there are some positives to eating small amounts on a regular basis - shout out to Mrs. Pattershall and Mrs. Smith for keeping my heart healthy
