            WHITE Day

 

 

 

Senior Permanent Art Collection:  The senior permanent art collection will exhibit one selected piece of artwork by a graduating senior to represent the artistic talent of Sanford High School. The selected work will be formatted with a plaque and revealed on Senior Awards Night. This collection will serve as a continuous timeline of high quality work from Sanford High School seniors. R e q u i r e m e n t s Are: 

  • Every interested senior may turn in TWO works of art.
  • Work may be two or three dimensional.
  • Work must be final pieces (no sketchbook work.)
  • Neat and professionally presented.
  • It is suggested that the works of art are recent and created during your Junior or Senior year.
    • Submitted work must be handed to Mrs. Gillis in room B127 no later than 2 pm on Friday, May 6th.
    • Works must have the student’s name attached.

Prom Announcement: The list of Prom Attendees and guests is being reviewed next week by admin.  If you have not gotten your guest approved you have until the end of this week to submit your paperwork. Tickets were assigned to specific people upon purchase, so only those with their name on the approved list will be admitted to Prom.  If there are any changes you must see Mrs Baker this week. If you purchased a Prom Ticket and would like to have photos taken by Studio By The Pond on location, please get a photo order form from the main office.

Spring Formal – The class of 2024 is sponsoring a Spring Formal at SHS on April 29th 7-10pm. Cost is $10 per person. Come dressed to impress.

Please pay Senior Class Dues, 65.00 may be paid in the Main Office.   Any questions please see Ms. Williams in A242

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

GSTA meets Thursdays after school in B237

Environmental Club meets Tuesdays @ 7:20am in Ms. Trafelet’s room E222.  We have several projects we will be working on this year.  Come join us and help make a positive impact on our planet.  All are welcome!!

Science Bowl will meet in the Small Cafeteria during Tuesday Spartan Time and is welcoming new competitors for their teams.  For more information, please email bmarass@sanford.org

Civil Rights Team meets Tuesdays after school, in the library or Zoom.  We will also be meeting every other Friday during Spartan Time! New members are always welcome.

Art club meets every Thursday in room B127 with Mrs. Gillis from 2:20-3:30. All are welcome!

Pep Club meets on Tuesdays after school in room C224 to discuss Homecoming, New Goals and a Great Year!

Key Club will start meeting Monday nights at 6:30 on the agora stairs.  Key Club is the best way to fulfill community service requirements and have a great time with friends at the same time!

SHS Peer Helpers meet every Friday morning in the small cafeteria at SHS. Meetings begin at 7:30 or if you are a bus student stop by when your bus arrives at school.  New student tours, Thanksgiving baskets, #thisisus are all part of what SHS Peer Helpers are involved in. Please text 81010 to @bletou to sign up on Remind and begin receiving updates from Mrs. Letourneau (advisor). 

Anime, Chess and Cribbage club will be Thursday after school, in Room B243

 

Want to get rugged?! The fitness room will be open after school for students and staff.  Workout plans are available.  See you there!

On April 30 the Rolling Thunder is hosting an Annual Bowl-A-Thon for Veterens from 9am-4pm.  You can bowl for 1-6 hours.  Registration fee is $10.  If you are interested please call Bonnie @ 207-490-1858.

Community Service Opportunities

 

A local elderly couple is looking for someone to help them move/load boxes from their houses this week.  If you are interested please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237.

 

CJL School is looking for volunteers for the events below. Please email lydiaclehoux@gmail.com for more information.

Kids Color Fun Run - May 14th 8:30am-11am. We are looking for students to help us set up the event as well as help us take it down. During the event, we would love to have volunteers spray the students with color as they run around the field. 

Ice Cream Social - June 2nd 5:30-7pm. We are looking for volunteers to help us scoop and serve ice cream as well as serving a variety of toppings.
