The Civil Rights Team presents:  Suggested Reading for Black History Month!

This week's suggestion is Turning 15 on the Road to Freedom  By:  Lynda Blackmon Lowery

This memoir, written by the youngest member of the Selma Voting Rights March in 1965, chronicles her arrests, work with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and her commitment to nonviolent protest to fight for the voting rights that the black community had been denied.

This book provides readers with a window into what it was like to be a young black person during the Civil Rights Movement.

A copy is available in the library or through the Sora Library App.  See Mrs. Raymond or Ms. Baldwin in the library for more information and assistance
