Sanford’s Civil Rights team is happy to announce that this year’s Day of Welcome will be held on Friday, November 5th. The Day of Welcome, is a day designated to welcome everyone. Welcoming all races and skin colors, all national origins and ancestries, all religions, all disabilities, all genders (including gender identity and expression), and all sexual orientations. It is so important that everyone feels included and celebrated. There will be posters hanging on the library windows, with the definitions of The Civil Rights six identities. There will also be informational slides on the closed-circuit tv’s, around the school, sharing these six identities, as well. Lastly, there are some vinyl stickers that were created for the day of Welcome. The Day of Welcome is our way of letting everyone know that Sanford High School is a place where they should feel safe, welcome, respected, and celebrated for who they are. Once again it will take place on November 5th and it is definitely a day to look forward to. If you have any questions please feel free to email one of the Civil Rights Advisors: Mrs. Whitney(hwhitney@sanford.org), Ms. Trafelet (gtrafelet@sanford.org), Mr. Kearson (rkearson@sanford.org) Ms. Baldwin (abaldwin@sanford.org) or Ms. Raymond (jraymond@sanford.org)

You can participate in our Day of Welcome project by completing the following statement during Monday's Spartan Time: "Something I do to make others feel welcome in our community ___________________"  Your Spartan Time teacher will have a template to write your answer if you would like to participate.
