Any 9th grade students who had art with Ms. L-G last year and didn’t get their artwork back should stop by Ms. Warner’s room B141 to pick it up this week. 

Free books from the library are here!  Even if you didn't pre-order a book, you can choose one. There are many great titles to choose from! Come on down to the library anytime to pick up your free book!

The New Leaders Project is a one-week summer camp, which allows young people to gain leadership skills to take back to their schools and communities. Campers learn about the issues important to building a strong and resilient community, like: knowing your rights, self-care, navigating relationships, challenging yourself, meeting with LGBTQ+ elders and so much more. Campers will connect with other LGBTQ+ young people from around the state as well as with activists, professionals, and leaders who advocate on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community.This FREE leadership camp is for LGBTQ+ youth and allies (ages 12-17) and will take place over 5 days and 4 nights from August 2nd to August 6th on the campus of Saint Joseph's College in Standish. Camp this year will be run following all Maine COVID-19 CDC guidelines. Accepted applicants will receive further information regarding camp safety expectations. Don’t be shy, buy some more! Don’t forget to buy a yearbook $70 until we run out! You can purchase one in D113 in Mrs.Tibbetts room (green wing). “What's in it for me” you may ask? There are so many memories and fun experiences in our yearbook that you will remember forever and what's better than showing your family and friends in ten years all of the memories and fun things you got to do throughout the years. You will be able to have all of your friends sign your yearbook and be able to remember what your friends were like in high school.

Are you interested in performing with the marching band next fall? All wind instruments, percussion, and color guard spots are open! All wind players and percussionists are invited to participate in our Summer Concert Band camp here at SHS June 14-17. The camp is part of summer school and breakfast and lunch will be provided as well as transportation to and from school! The camp will begin at 8am and end at 12pm. We will have professional instrument specialists here to run sectionals and master classes and the goal is to learn 2-3 pieces to perform at the end of the camp on the 17th! You also get a free t-shirt! Ryan Payeur Foundations is looking to hire on people interested in learning the trade of foundations.  Any interested student should see Mrs. Pattershall in A237

Partners for Healthier Communities is taking on a new program this summer called Gateway to Opportunity (G2O). The program hires 4-6 high school students to work with us for 6 weeks (20 hours a week). The young people will be paid 12.15/hour and the program runs from early July to mid-August.  For more information, please see Mrs. Pattershall
