March Madness: The 3v3 Basketball Tournament has been postponed to Wednesday, March 18th at 3:30pm in the comp gym! Admission is free to come cheer on the 10 teams! Concessions will be available! Who will take home the gift cards & bragging rights?!

SHS Art Show 2026

Mark your calendars to attend the annual SHS Art Show on Thursday April 2nd, 5:00- 7:00 pm. Enjoy light refreshments and live music performed by SHS students as you view the incredible artwork!

 

 

The Sanford High School General Scholarship application is now open!  

Seniors attending post-secondary institutions and/or training programs are strongly encouraged to apply.  The application can be found here.  Applications are due on Friday, April 17th. 

 

 

Pizza Party! Dine at or grab takeout from OTTO's in Sanford on Wednesday, March 25th from 4-8pm to help support the Class of 2027!

FOR SALE AT SHS

 

PROM: Prom will be held Saturday, May 2nd at Foster's Clambake in York, Maine. Tickets will be $55 again this year. Tickets go on sale to seniors during all lunches beginning Monday, March 30th. Payment is needed at time of purchase. Tickets will go on sale to juniors on Monday, April 6th. After 350 tickets are sold, additional guests wanting to attend will be put on a waiting list. Purchase your ticket ASAP to make sure you get one!

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

 

Magic: The Gathering club will meet Mondays (except the first of the month) in D230 from 2:30- 3:30PM. Bring your cards and prepare to battle.

 

Art Club: Do you need a space to be creative? Look no further than joining Art Club!   Can't commit to a weekly club? No worries! Drop ins always welcome! New this year; Special Art Club Meets: once a month we will host a specialty art activity which will be announced in your daily announcements!  See Ms. Simoneau, in B127 Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 pm. 

 

Civil Rights Team: Do you believe that school is a place where students should feel safe, welcomed, respected, and celebrated for who they are? The Sanford Civil Rights Team is the club for you! Please join us on Mondays from 2:15-3:15 in the library.  ALL ARE WELCOME!

 

Nature Journal Club in Ms. Strout's room (B249) Thursdays 2:30-3:30

 

Anime club is meeting on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 in B211.

 

Dungeons and Dragons will meet in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and Fridays directly following school.  All are welcome.

 

The Environmental Club meets on Tuesdays at 2:30pm in Mr. Jeney's room, 2nd Floor Blue last door on the left, E256. New Members Welcome!!

 

Peer Helpers will begin meeting on Fridays in the small cafe beginning at 7:30. Old and new members are welcome. Lunch buddies, student tours, Thanksgiving baskets and much much more. Come be part of a club that helps to make SHS a welcoming place!

 

Key Club meets every Monday night @ 6PM in the agora!  All are welcome.

 

Need community service hours? Interact Club is a great option! Now meeting on Wednesdays at 7:20 AM in B143B. Interact Club offers a variety of volunteering opportunities, scholarships, and is affiliated with the largest humanitarian group in the world: Rotary International. All are welcome!

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Student volunteers are needed for set-up for the SHS Art Show Wednesday 4/1 immediately after school. If interested, see Ms. Burtsell, Mrs. Simoneau, or Ms. Young.

The Alfred Shaker Museum is announcing Volunteer Opportunities for our new Maple Sugar Sunday fund-raiser to be held March 22nd 2026, for students who may need community service hours to suffice up-coming graduation requirements. We need individuals to assist with set-up on Saturday, March 21st 2026. On Sunday, March 22nd 2026, we will need individuals for food preparation, serving, cleaning and bussing tables; which would be a perfect opportunity for aspiring Culinary Arts Students. We will also need individuals for clean-up and break-down of the event early afternoon on Sunday, March 22nd 2026.  Interested individuals to contact Peter Prinz, FASM Treasurer, Event Committee Chair, and Volunteer Coordinator, directly at pete35477@icloud.com.

 

SCHOOL SUPER SNACK: Sanford School Nutrition is happy to announce that Super Snacks will be served after the last bell form 2:20 - 2:45. These meals will be served Monday-Thursday when afterschool enrichment activities are offered. These meals are free of charge and we encourage all students to take advantage of this after school program.
