It is that time of year to start the food drive for the Thanksgiving boxes. Please bring the item that is assigned to your class and put it in the food box across from the Maine office. The class that brings in the most food will be eligible to participate in a raffle to win prizes.  

Freshman- Instant Potatoes

Sophomores- Gravy and/or Cranberry Sauce

Juniors- Canned Veggies

Seniors- Stuffing

 

This Friday, November 7, 2025, is the Annual Civil Rights Team Day of Welcome, a time to remember that our school community welcomes all.  All national origins and ancestries, all races and skin colors, all religions, all disabilities, all gender identities and expressions, and all sexual orientations.  Civil Rights Teams throughout the State of Maine will be celebrating in their own ways.  Join us at Sanford High School during all lunches to test your knowledge of civil rights related trivia, help us focus our concentration on the civil rights categories within our school that need the most attention, and pick up some stickers or bookmarks to show your support!

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

 

 

 

There will be a basketball information sign up meeting on the AGORA during spartan time on FRIDAY.  If you are interested, please book yourself to your homeroom teacher for that day so you can go down when called.

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

 

Book club is starting a new book soon, and new members are welcome!  We will be reading Darker by Four, by June CL Tan. Check it out here, and let Mrs. Raymond know ASAP if you want to join us.  We meet every Thursday during Spartan Time.

 

Art Club: Do you need a space to be creative? Look no further than joining Art Club!   Can't commit to a weekly club? No worries! Drop ins always welcome! New this year; Special Art Club Meets: once a month we will host a specialty art activity which will be announced in your daily announcements!  See Ms. Simoneau, in B127 Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 pm. 

Special Art Club Week: Have you heard of the Art Trading Wall Trend? If not; it's you're lucky day! We are hopping on the TikTok trend and creating our very own Trading Wall for art! Please join us this week in getting the board ready and learn how to spread the word! 

 

Civil Rights Team: Do you believe that school is a place where students should feel safe, welcomed, respected, and celebrated for who they are? The Sanford Civil Rights Team is the club for you! Please join us on Mondays from 2:15-3:15 in the library.  ALL ARE WELCOME!

 

Nature Journal Club in Ms Strout's room (B249) Thursdays 2:30-3:30

 

Anime club is meeting on Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 in B211.

 

Dungeons and Dragons will meet in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and Fridays directly following school.  All are welcome.

 

The Environmental Club meets on Tuesdays at 2:30pm in Mr. Jeney's room, 2nd Floor Blue last door on the left, E256. New Members Welcome!!

 

Peer Helpers will begin meeting on Fridays in the small cafe beginning at 7:30. Old and new members are welcome. Lunch buddies, student tours, Thanksgiving baskets and much much more. Come be part of a club that helps to make SHS a welcoming place!

 

Key Club meets every Monday night @ 6PM in the agora!  All are welcome.

 

Need community service hours? Interact Club is a great option! Now meeting on Wednesdays at 7:20 AM in B143B. Interact Club offers a variety of volunteering opportunities, scholarships, and is affiliated with the largest humanitarian group in the world: Rotary International. All are welcome!

Looking for volunteers to help with this years’ annual Spree of Trees in December.  The Sanford Alumni Association is looking for people to help as many hours as possible for set-up, during the event, and pick-up on the last day.  Hours will be available from 12/1 through 12/7.  If interested, please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237.

Attention All Students! Looking for an opportunity to earn community service hours while helping your local newspaper? The Sanford Springvale News is looking for student volunteers with a vehicle and a driver’s license to serve as substitute newspaper delivery drivers. 

This role involves delivering newspapers on a specific route on Fridays in the late morning or early afternoon, as needed. It’s a simple 1 to 2-hour commitment on weeks you’re available.

SCHOOL SUPER SNACK: Sanford School Nutrition is happy to announce that Supper Snacks will be served after the last bell form 2:15 - 2:45. These meals will be served Monday-Thursday when afterschool enrichment activities are offered. These meals are free of charge and we encourage all students to take advantage of this after school program.
