Seniors save the date! On October 22nd at 6pm the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) will be on site in the SRTC Career Planning Center to assist students and their parents/guardians with completing the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). Please reach out to your school counselor if you have further questions.

Are you interested in global issues, journalism, government, or current events? Join Mrs. Jewell in attending the 39th Annual Camden Conference in Camden/Rockland, Feb 20 - 22nd, 2026!! This is a free conference for students that is taking on the topic: Power, Politics, and Players in Today's Middle East. Students interested can get more information from Mrs Jewell in room B143A or by attending the interest meeting on October 23 at 2:30 pm. 

 

United Way of Southern Maine is looking for 2-3 interested students to represent Sanford High on their team on their Student Ambassador Program.  If you are interested in learning more, please see Mrs. MacDougal in the SRTC office. 

 

Class of 2029 will have homecoming meetings this week on Tuesday (9/23) and Thursday (9/25) from 5-7pm in room D113.

 

Class of 2027 will be meeting on Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8 in C105 for homecoming prep!

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

 

 

Art ClubDo you need a space to be creative? Look no further than joining Art Club!   Can't commit to a weekly club? No worries! Drop ins always welcome! New this year;  Special Art Club Meets: once a month we will host a specialty art activity which will be announced in your

daily announcements! Look out for the   icon for days that will offer the special event with the description. See Ms. Simoneau, in B127 Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 pm.

 

Nature Journal Club in Ms Strout's room (B249) Thursdays 2:30-3:30

 

Dungeons and Dragons will meet in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and Fridays directly following school.  All are welcome.

 

The Environmental Club meets on Tuesdays at 2:30pm in Mr. Jeney's room, 2nd Floor Blue last door on the left, E256. New Members Welcome!!

 

Peer Helpers will begin meeting on Fridays in the small cafe beginning at 7:30. Old and new members are welcome. Lunch buddies, student tours, Thanksgiving baskets and much much more. Come be part of a club that helps to make SHS a welcoming place!

 

Key Club meets every Monday night @ 6Pm in the agora!  All are welcome.

 

Need community service hours? Interact Club is a great option! Now meeting on Tuesdays from 2:30 - 3:00 pm, Interact Club offers a variety of volunteering opportunities, scholarships, and is affiliated with the largest humanitarian group in the world: Rotary International. All are welcome!

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

 

R. Pepin and Sons is currently looking for a student who would be interested in interning after school for a job in testing sand +aggregates for the golf course industry.  It would be 1-2 hours a day 3-5 days per week for $25/hr.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. MacDougal in the SRTC office. 

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

 

North Parish is looking for volunteers to help with Communities Care Day (Indigenous People's Days) on October 13th! You could help with kids activities or nail painting or  set up tables or be a front door person. This event will run from 8:30AM to 1PM and please email  communitiescare@northparishuccsanfordme.org if interested.

 

Sanford Pride Elementary School PTA is hosting a Halloween event on Oct. 23rd. 5-6PM.  We are looking for groups to join us with decorated tables to hand out candy. If you are a group/team/business or a HS student in need of volunteer hours, please contact:

Looking for volunteers to help with this years’ annual Spree of Trees in December.  The Sanford Alumni Association is looking for people to help as many hours as possible for set-up, during the event, and pick-up on the last day.  Hours will be available from 12/1 through 12/7.  If interested, please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237.

 

Carl J Lamb School is looking for volunteers to help with the annual Halloween Trick or Treat Event on October 23rd! You could help run games or a table for the trick or treaters. This event will run from 5-7 and please email lydiaclehoux@gmail.com if interested.

St. Thomas School is seeking an energetic individual to help with our after-school program. This can start as a volunteer opportunity and turn into employment. Available times are Monday-Friday 3:00pm-5:30pm. You can choose one day a week, multiple days per week, or Monday-Friday. Attention All Students! Looking for an opportunity to earn community service hours while helping your local newspaper? The Sanford Springvale News is looking for student volunteers with a vehicle and a driver’s license to serve as substitute newspaper delivery drivers. 

This role involves delivering newspapers on a specific route on Fridays in the late morning or early afternoon, as needed. It’s a simple 1 to 2-hour commitment on weeks you’re available.
