Red Day

 

 

SHS will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT on Tuesday, October 21st at 8 AM.  The cost is $18 and is due at time of registration. Checks can be made payable to Sanford High School. Students must register in the school counseling office with Ms. Haney by the end of the school day (2:20 PM) on 9/17.  Late sign-ups will not be accepted. . 

 

United Way of Southern Maine is looking for 2-3 interested students to represent Sanford High on their team on their Student Ambassador Program.  If you are interested in learning more, please see Mrs. MacDougal in the SRTC office. 

 

 

FOR SALE AT SHS

 

Spartan T-shirts in different colors will be sold at Fridays football game to help participate in “color out” days for sports games through homecoming.  They will be sold for $10 or 2 for $18.  The table will be set up just inside the gate.  Be sure to be ready for homecoming!!

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

 

Dungeons and Dragons will meet in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and Fridays directly following school.  All are welcome.

 

The Environmental Club meets on Tuesdays at 2:30pm in Mr. Jeney's room, 2nd Floor Blue last door on the left, E256. New Members Welcome!!

(Our first meeting will be on Sept. 16th)

 

Peer Helpers will begin meeting on Fridays in the small cafe beginning at 7:30. Old and new members are welcome. Lunch buddies, student tours, Thanksgiving baskets and much much more. Come be part of a club that helps to make SHS a welcoming place!

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

 

R. Pepin and Sons is currently looking for a student who would be interested in interning after school for a job in testing sand +aggregates for the golf course industry.  It would be 1-2 hours a day 3-5 days per week for $25/hr.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. MacDougal in the SRTC office. 

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

 

Looking for many volunteers to help with this years’ annual Spree of Trees in December.  The Sanford Alumni Association is looking for people to help as many hours as possible for set-up, during the event, and pick-up on the last day.  Hours will be available from 12/1 through 12/7.  If interested, please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237.

St. Thomas School is seeking an energetic individual to help with our after-school program. This can start as a volunteer opportunity and turn into employment. Available times are Monday-Friday 3:00pm-5:30pm. You can choose one day a week, multiple days per week, or Monday-Friday. Attention All Students! Looking for an opportunity to earn community service hours while helping your local newspaper? The Sanford Springvale News is looking for student volunteers with a vehicle and a driver’s license to serve as substitute newspaper delivery drivers. 

This role involves delivering newspapers on a specific route on Fridays in the late morning or early afternoon, as needed. It’s a simple 1 to 2-hour commitment on weeks you’re available.

The Alfred Shaker Museum is looking for help with the upcoming Shaker Hill Apple Festival.  They are looking for help on any or all days from Thursday, September 18th through Sunday September 21st.  They are currently seeing people willing to face paint!
