Good Morning! Buenos Dias! It is Civil Rights Team Day of Welcome Eve! Disability is a word that the disability rights community embraces. A disability is something about a person that makes it more difficult for them to do something that most people are able to do. Disabilities can be physical (of the body) or mental/ intellectual (of the mind). A disability may or may not prevent someone from doing something; they may still be able to do it, just in a way that’s different from how other people might do it. Examples of disabilities include: ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, blindness, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, learning disabilities (like dyslexia), mental health disorders (like anxiety), and paralysis. There are many, many more. Remember: All disabilities are welcome in our school. Please wear Red and White tomorrow to show that our schools are for everyone!
