WHITE DAY

 

 

The Environmental Club will not meet after school today.

SHS will be offering the PSAT/NMSQT on Tuesday, October 29th at 8 AM.  The cost is $18 and is due at time of registration.  Checks can be made payable to Sanford High School.  Students must register in School Counseling by the end of the school day (2:20 PM) on 9/24.  Late sign-ups will not be accepted.  Please speak to your school counselor if you have questions.

 

 

Homecoming Week: October 7-12

Tuesday: Twin Tuesday

Wednesday: Dress like your class Broadway Musical (12-Grease, 11-Little Mermaid,

10- Back to the Future, 9- Hamilton) or your favorite.

Thursday: Red/White Day

The Late Bus is now up and running.  It will pick students up on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 3:45PM at the flagpole out front.

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

GSTA will be meeting Thursday mornings before school as well as Thursday after school.  Pleas see Mrs. Stanhope in B237 if interested.

Science bowl - The 2025 Science bowl is going to be held in person at USM in February.  We would love to have 2 complete teams.  We will meet during ST on Thursdays so have your homeroom teacher schedule you to Mrs. English.  

Peer Helpers will meet on Fridays from 7:30-7:45 AM in the small café

Civil Rights Team will meet on Mondays @ 2:25pm in the library.  Please join us to help make the school a place where everyone feels safe, welcome, and respected for who they are!

D&D Club meets on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 in E121 (Dr. K’s room) Come join!

Art Club: Do you need a space to be creative? Look no further than joining Art Club! Can't commit to a weekly club? No worries! Drop ins always welcome! See Ms. Simoneau, B127 Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30.

Environmental Club now meets on Monday’s @ 2:30 in Mr. Jeney’s room, E256 at the end of the hall, 2nd floor Blue wing.

The ASL Club will be continuing on Tuesdays at 2:30 pm in room E121 with Ms. Pulley. We hope to see you there!

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

 

The ACTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTG is in need of volunteers for their annual Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 26th, from 11:00am-5:00pm.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at yvonne@actonptg.com.

 

The Sanford Pride PTA is looking for volunteers for our Trick or Treat event on October 18 from 5-7. Set up begins at 5 and cleanup should go until 7. Includes, handing out candy, crowd control and making kids laugh. Please email the SPE PTA at spePTAme@gmail.com for more information.

 

The CJL PTA is currently looking for volunteers to help face paint and hand out popsicles at their annual Playground Party event next Thursday, September 26th from 5-7pm.  If interested please reach out to Lydia Lehoux @ lydiaclehoux@gmail.com

There is an elderly couple living on Curtis Lake Drive that is looking for someone to stack wood and do yard work.  If interested please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237.

A local elderly man is looking for help each time he orders pellets to bring them into his basement.  If interested, please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237

Barn Lights in Acton is hosting a 2-night spooky walk on 10/30 & 10/31 with a rehearsal day on the 29th.  If you are interested in helping please email Paul Gurney @ 482-0298 for information and details.

Do you like working with young children? If so, then please consider volunteering at North Parish Congregational Church on Sundays from 10:15-12:15 to assist the Sunday School teacher in setting up story time and crafts area for the school aged children, and then play with young children or toddlers in the free play area. Curtis Lake Church is looking for people interested in volunteering for 2 hours every Wednesday night for their weekly meal served to the community.  You do not have to go every week but any help is appreciated.  If interested please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237.
