ATTENTION ALL GRADUATING SENIORS: Are you attending college in the Fall? Do you need financial help? If so, the General Scholarship was sent out via email on March 7. SHS students attending college are guaranteed a scholarship at graduation, but you need to apply! Please complete the application online or print, complete, and return it to Mrs. Bourassa before the deadline date of April 8th. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bourassa (jbourassa@sanford.org) in the Principal’s Office.
New York Times bestselling author, Neal Shusterman, is coming to visit SHS on April 4th! He has written many popular young adult books, such as The Arc of a Scythe series, Unwind series, Dry, and his newest graphic novel, Courage to Dream. Barowsky Scholars is accepting scholarship applications for a 4 year renewable scholarship of up to $25,000 based on financial need. Information regarding scholarship guidelines and criteria can be found here. Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2024.
MES Foundation is accepting online applications for the 2024 Richard H. Pierce Memorial Scholarship. Ten $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to Maine residents entering their first year of post-secondary education. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years. The 2024 Mitchell Scholarship online application is now open until April 1! You can see more details here: Mitchell Scholarship flyer. The Mitchell institute has made a commitment of awarding at least one $10,000 scholarship annually to a graduating student from each of the 134 public high schools in Maine. We are excited to share that we will award 40 additional scholarships across the state in 2024, bringing our annual total to $1.74M in support for the class of 2024 Mitchell Scholars. In celebration of 2024 Maine Clean Water Week, the Maine Water Environment Association is once again sponsoring a poster competition for Maine students. The theme of this year’s Maine Clean Water Week competition is “WHY WATER’S WORTH IT TO ME!” Prizes will be awarded for the top poster for each age group and recognition will be given for the top three posters in each age group ~ Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-8 and Grades 9-12. Do you find yourself looking into the fridge or cupboards at home and coming up short? Have to make something for your younger siblings and would like more options? The Starving Spartan Café will be open on Tuesday and Thursdays. Block 3 they will be open to Staff and Block 4 they will be open to Students and Staff. This Thursday they will be serving 2 crunchy beef tacos with lettuce, cheese, tomato, sour cream, salsa and rice for $6. Stop by and check out the yummy homemade food. CLUBS AND ORGANIZATION
GSTA Club meets Thursdays in B237 after school. Everyone is welcome.

Environmental Club meets on Tuesday after school in room E250, (second floor at the end of the blue wing on your left). Help us make an impact on the environment by selling trees in the community, bottle recycling, and much more! All are welcome.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Wells Recreation is looking for day camp counselors. Applicants must be available for camp training the week of June 17th as well as all 7 weeks of camp which runs from June 24th through August 9th. Applications can be obtained by visiting the town’s website at www.wellstown.org
COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Greater Sanford Babe Ruth Baseball is recruiting volunteers to act as the announcer at Goodall Park in Sanford during league games. Volunteers will address the audience at the start of each game and between innings. The announcer also introduces players as they come to bat, or are substituted during a game.
