Barowsky Scholars is accepting scholarship applications for a 4 year renewable scholarship of up to $25,000 based on financial need. Information regarding scholarship guidelines and criteria can be found here. Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2024.
MES Foundation is accepting online applications for the 2024 Richard H. Pierce Memorial Scholarship. Ten $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to Maine residents entering their first year of post-secondary education. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years. The 2024 Mitchell Scholarship online application is now open until April 1! You can see more details here: Mitchell Scholarship flyer. The Mitchell institute has made a commitment of awarding at least one $10,000 scholarship annually to a graduating student from each of the 134 public high schools in Maine. We are excited to share that we will award 40 additional scholarships across the state in 2024, bringing our annual total to $1.74M in support for the class of 2024 Mitchell Scholars. Are you impacted by the substance misuse of someone that you care about? At our school, we believe it's crucial to provide resources and strategies to help students cope with difficult situations. The SHS School Counseling department will be offering a small group for students on this topic. If you're interested, please email bletourneau@sanford.org
If you are interesting in signing up for the REC league basketball through Nasson Community Center, they will having sign ups and assessments on January 28th 9-11am at Nasson Gym. Please bring a parent or guardian.
In celebration of 2024 Maine Clean Water Week, the Maine Water Environment Association is once again sponsoring a poster competition for Maine students. The theme of this year’s Maine Clean Water Week competition is “WHY WATER’S WORTH IT TO ME!” Prizes will be awarded for the top poster for each age group and recognition will be given for the top three posters in each age group ~ Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-8 and Grades 9-12. Attention all Students: SPART MART is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from dismissal to 4:00. This FREE market is available to ALL students! Do you find yourself looking into the fridge or cupboards at home and coming up short? Have to make something for your younger siblings and would like more options? Tired of stopping at the grocery store and dropping too much money for not enough food? SPART MART has what you need! From frozen ground beef, frozen pizza, and chicken tenders, to fresh grapes, cereal, pasta, flour, and more. The Starving Spartan Café will be open on Tuesday and Thursdays. Block 3 they will be open to Staff and Block 4 they will be open to Students and Staff. Stop by and check out the yummy homemade food. GSTA Club meets Thursdays in B237 after school. Everyone is welcome.

Environmental Club meets on Tuesday after school in room E250, (second floor at the end of the blue wing on your left). Help us make an impact on the environment by selling trees in the community, bottle recycling, and much more! All are welcome.

Health and wellness club meets in the weight room every day after school except Wednesdays!

Key Club meets every Monday night at 6:00 pm in the agora. This is a great way to get involved with your community and help out with countless service projects alongside your friends!
