The holiday season is a time for spreading joy and kindness, and the Peer Helpers at Sanford High School took it upon themselves to make a difference on Wednesday.
Each student in Peer Helpers has their own Lunch Buddy to share meals and connect with. On Wednesday, the Peer Helpers gave back to their buddies by putting on a Holiday Party as part of their "17 Acts of Kindness Campaign."
The group enjoyed snacks, made cookies, and created holiday decorations.
The Peer Helpers have taken up the challenge of performing 17 acts of kindness before the winter break. These acts aim to uplift spirits, spread positivity, and make a positive impact on the lives of others. The Peer Helpers have planned various activities to accomplish their goal and are excited to make a difference in their school community.
To keep the entire school informed and engaged, the Peer Helpers distributed informative materials. These materials provided details about their upcoming work and offered opportunities for others to join in and lend a helping hand.
Students can nominate peers who have been caught being kind, recognizing their positive contributions. Additionally, cards will be available for students to fill out and send to local nursing homes, sharing kind messages with the elderly residents.
The Peer Helpers will organize a special event called the "Caught Being Kind Awards" at the end of their campaign. This will take place right before students leave for winter break.
During this event, the group will recognize and honor those students who have exemplified kindness and compassion throughout the season. It will serve as a reminder of the power of kindness and its ability to create a positive school environment.
