Class of 2025

Applications for student representative to the School Committee are now being accepted.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend School Committee meetings and become involved in discussions involving policies and procedures for the entire district.  If you are interested please pick up an application in the Assistant Principals’ Office (A237).  Applications must be returned no later than 4PM on Friday, September 22.  Initial interview will be held the week of September 25.

 

PSAT SIGN UP

 

The PSAT/NMSQT will be offered at SHS on October 24th.

  • Student need to sign-up in the School Counseling office by 9/18.  Late registrations will not be accepted.
  • Cost: $18, checks can be made out to Sanford High School.  Payment is due at time of sign-up.  Please speak with your school counselor if you are in need of financial assistance for registration.

 

Reminder to all juniors and seniors – If you drive your car to school you need to buy a parking pass.  The forms are in the rack outside of the Main Office and the cost is $10.00.

 

Picture make-up day is Friday, September 15th starting at 8:30.

Art Club  Do you need a space to do be creative? Look no further than joining Art Club! Can't commit to a weekly club? No worries! Drop ins always welcome! See Ms. Simoneau, B127 Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 beginning 9/19

Ocean Bowl Interested in the ocean and the creatures within? Join this club! Schedule Spartan Time with Ms. Gifford in room C205 on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. Learn more at our first meeting on September 15th. 

D&D Club interest meeting will happen FRIDAY at 2:30 in E121. Come join!

Civil Rights Team: Do you believe that school is a place where students should feel safe, welcomed, respected, and celebrated for who they are? The Sanford Civil Rights Team is the club for you! Please join us on Mondays from 2:15-3:15 in the library.  ALL ARE WELCOME!

Health and wellness club meets in the weight room every day after school except Wednesdays!

SHS Peer Helpers will begin meeting Friday September 15, 2023 at 7:30 in the small cafe. Meetings are every Friday and grades 9-12 are welcome to join. New student tours, Thanksgiving Baskets and Lunch Buddies are just some of our yearly activities. Please email Mrs. Letourneau if you have any questions bletourneau@sanford.org

The Spartan Times: Are you interested in writing, taking photos, or designing graphics for the school newspaper? Join the Spartan Times staff to contribute to the news around our school and our community. Find Ms. Foley in D130 or email kfoley@sanford.org!

The ASL club is up and running! It'll be on Tuesdays, till 3:30 in room E121 with Dr. K.  Our first meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 12 @ 2:30.

 

SHS Book Club meets every Thursday during ST.  Our first meeting will be Thursday, Sept 14th.  We will pick our first book at that time.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Grayson Perro, an 8th grader, is hosting a local 5K walk to help raise money for a child with cancer.  The is going to be Saturday, September 16th.  He is looking for anyone willing to volunteer give out water, help with the raffle and do face painting.  If you are interested please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237.

New Beginnings Christian Church is looking for help with our Thursday night children's group. From 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. play games, dance, and create projects with some great kids and fulfill your graduation requirement at the same time!!  If interested please call Laurie @ 210-1423.

RANDOM FACT OF THE DAY: Apples bought in a supermarket could be up to a year old due to how the farmers store and preserve them.
