Senior Permanent Art Collection

The senior permanent art collection will exhibit one selected piece of artwork by a graduating senior to represent the artistic talent of Sanford High School. The selected work will be formatted with a plaque and revealed on Senior Awards Night. This collection will serve as a continuous timeline of high quality work from Sanford High School seniors. Requirements are:

  • Every interested senior may turn in TWO works of art.

LOOKING TO WIN SOME GIFT CARDS?

The yearbook is looking for ACTION shots from 2023 spring sports. These can be photos you take on the team bus, during practice, or during games/meets. The more photos you submit, the more likely you are the win some gift cards! We are also looking for pictures from PROM on May 6th, and the NHS Variety Show!

Deadline for submitting photos Friday the 26th! Winners will be announced Tuesday May 30th.

Summer soccer information meeting will be held during Spartan Time Wednesday May 31st in the Wrestling Room. This is for all returners and any new comers that want to join the fun!

 

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATION

 

ASL Club meets every Tuesday in room B246 from 2:10-3:00

 

Key Club meets every Monday @ 6:30pm in the small café.

Chamber Singers will meet on Fridays from 2:30-4:00pm.  See Mr. LaBerge for more info

Health and Wellness Club will run every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the weight room right after school.

Chess & Cribbage Club meets on Tuesdays from 2:10-3:10 in D222

SHS Peer Helpers meet every Friday MORNING @ 7:30am in the small café

Math Team will meet Tuesdays right after school in D243

D&D Club will meet Tuesdays 2:15-3:30 in D242 and Fridays 2:15-3:30 in the Cafeteria

SHS book club meets every Wednesday during ST in the Library.  New members welcome.

Civil Rights Team: Do you believe that school is a place where students should feel safe, welcomed, respected, and celebrated for who they are? The Sanford Civil Rights Team is the club for you! Please join us on Mondays from 2:15-3:15 in the library.  ALL ARE WELCOME!

Community Service Opportunities

Need community service?  Want to have fun doing it?  Sheila Dube, Springvale Library's zany children's librarian, will be here during Spartan Time on  Wednesday, May 24, to share volunteer opportunities and the summer reading program.  She always brings a fun activity and gives away free books!  If you would like to join us, sign up for the library for Wednesday's Spartan Time.

There is an elderly woman in Sanford who is looking for people to help move two rooms of furniture.  If interested please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237 for more information.

The Rolling Thunder is looking to have some people help them place flags on the cemeteries for Memorial Day this weekend.  If you are interested, please email Jessica Violette @ TheJes85@outlook.com

Sanford Parks and Recreation is looking for a few good High School Youth who have a true fondness for working with Kiddos K-6th Grade this summer. Want a fun way to earn your volunteer hours?  Come hang out at Little League Park @ our concession stand. Jobs include: Making burgers and fries, some cashier work, stocking, and cleaning. Mostly just helping to motivate and put smiles on little kids faces!!!
