How long have you been teaching at Carl J. Lamb?

I have been teaching at Carl Lamb for 4 years now. Prior to that I have taught at Willard, Emerson, Lafayette, Edison and Lincoln Schools.

What’s your favorite part about working at Carl J. Lamb?

One of my favorite parts about working here at CJL is the staff. My colleagues are very supportive. Everyone works together to help each other whether it be with curriculum questions, advice, sharing materials, or covering a duty.

If you could share one piece of advice with students, what would it be?

One piece of advice I offer my students is to believe in themselves, take risks and never say “I can’t!” That mistakes are learning opportunities.  I remind them to say”I can’t right now” with work and perseverance they will succeed!

What made you want to become an educator?

I think my desire to become a teacher began long ago when I was a little girl. I would play school with my neighborhood friends. Also,I had a first grade teacher who I adored. She was soft-spoken, kind and fun. She made teaching look so easy.

What are your interests and hobbies?

When not teaching or doing school related things I love the beach! Walking, collecting beach treasures, reading, and walking my dog. I also enjoy baking and crafting. Of course, spending time with my family!

What is your favorite TV show or movie?

My favorite TV shows are Abbot Elementary, watching old Seinfeld episodes and any crime, drama show CSI, SVU.
