"The Bumpy Little Pumpkin" Teaches Literacy, Math, & Science Skills

Ms. Adams', Mrs. Giberti's and Mrs. Spellman's first graders read, The Bumpy Little Pumpkin. They talked about how pumpkins can be all different sizes and shapes. After, they created their very own pumpkin and used adjectives to describe their pumpkins.

Last year, Mrs. G's class explored pumpkins. Prior to this lesson they learned all about the life cycle of the pumpkin. Then, they drew their pumpkin,  measured their pumpkins using cubes, counted the pumpkin seeds and made predictions if their pumpkins would float to sink.
