Third Grade Art Project

As I was walking around the school I came upon a third grade art lesson.  The art standard was to learn about weaving.  Mrs. Lewin-Grover, our art teacher, had the students learn about weaving and then create their own paper weave.  To expand upon this standard the students then learned about an artist whose technique was to draw portraits of people and their hands attached to the weaving.  Our students are working to add portraits of animals' heads, paws and tails to their weavings.  Pictured above is an example of what the 3rd grade students will be creating.  The second picture is of some of Mrs. Grant's students working on their project.
