Mrs. Butler leads a lesson on phonology.

In an effort to help her students become better readers and writers, Mrs. Arnold invited Mrs. Butler, our speech teacher, to speak to her students about hearing and recording sounds.  Mrs. Butler led the students through several exercises where students not only recognized sounds auditory but by how their mouths were formed when making the sounds.  The students quickly caught on and were able to build words through a series of clues about the sounds being made.  Mrs. Arnold said she can already see her students transfer their new learning into the spelling of words in their writing.
