On the Thursday before our April Break our third graders celebrated their unit on character studies by recreating the party in the book, Because of Winn-Dixie. For examples of great character development in a book, all the 3rd graders read the book. The book concludes with all the major characters gathering for a special party and with each guest bringing a unique contribution. The characters also decorated a tree with messages of kindness that became the Kindness Tree. Pictured below are some of the unique offerings at the party.
