Sports Medicine

Prepare for a Career in the Growing Field of Sports Medicine.  Are you fascinated by the human body and how it performs under physical stress? Do you dream of a career helping athletes and active individuals achieve their full potential? The Sports Medicine program at SRTC is your pathway to an exciting future in this rapidly expanding field.  Over the course of two years, you'll develop a deep understanding of sports medicine principles and gain hands-on experience in assessment, prevention, and care of athletic injuries. From taping techniques to emergency procedures, you'll master the essential skills needed to excel in careers like athletic training, physical therapy, personal training, and more.  In the first year, you'll dive into the core sciences underlying sports medicine, including human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. Learn how the body's systems interact during physical activity and gain proficiency in evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating common sports injuries.  In your second year, you'll build on your foundational knowledge to explore specialized topics in sports medicine and prepare for industry certification. Develop an understanding of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and injury prevention strategies. Apply your skills through internships, service learning, and project-based experiences.
