Find an exciting career by joining AgE² - where innovation meets Maine agriculture! In this dynamic two-year program, you'll dive into Southern Maine's agricultural scene, from local organic farms and high-tech greenhouses to busy farmers' markets, forestry operations, and innovative grounds maintenance businesses. Learn how to harness cutting-edge technology while developing real-world skills in modern farming, landscaping, business management, sustainable greenhouse operations, and sustainable food production that are in high demand across our region.
Year 1 immerses you in hands-on projects at our state-of-the-art facilities, where you'll master greenhouse production, equipment operation (including tractors, grounds maintenance equipment, and specialized agricultural machinery), and develop year-round enterprise opportunities. Partner with local farms, orchards, tree care companies, grounds maintenance operations, and agricultural businesses to gain real-world experience in everything from seasonal crop production to farm-to-table operations. In Year 2, develop an agricultural venture, collaborate with successful local entrepreneurs, and earn industry certifications – including the Maine Core Agricultural Pesticide License. All while gaining advanced skills in greenhouse management, learning more about the environmental systems around us, and learning how to keep your Agri-business open year-round. You'll graduate with real business experience, a sustainable business model, and the skills to succeed in Maine's agricultural sector – whether you plan to run your own agricultural enterprise, work in ag-tech, forestry services, or pursue further education.
Join AgE² and be part of Maine's agricultural future! Whether you're interested in managing a high-tech greenhouse, running your own farm business, working with our region's innovative food producers, or continuing your education in agricultural science, you'll graduate with the skills, experience, and connections to succeed.
