Check out Unity College located close to home in central Maine. Listed as one of the Five Greenest Campuses in America by Green Careers Guide, and one of America’s Greenest Colleges by The Princeton Review and U.S. Green Building Council, Unity was the first college in the nation to divest from investments in fossil fuel. It is also home to New England’s largest environmental career fair. With only 540 students, Unity offers small classrooms and a 12:1 student:faculty ratio. The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) offers a two-year course of study that centers on the creation and dissemination of comics, graphic novels and other manifestations of the visual narrative. Experienced and internationally recognized cartoonists, writers, and designers teach classes. CCS programs include a two-year Master of Fine Arts Degree, One- and Two-Year Certificates in Cartooning, and annual summer workshops. The school is located in historic downtown village of White River Junction, Vermont.

With a student body of 1400, University of Maine at Presque Isle offers an intimate, small school education with some of New England’s top and exceptional academic programs. The Athletic Training and Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) programs offer dual certification and the PTA program is the only two-year university degree in Maine. Alums from the Athletic Training program include the head trainer for the Toronto Blue Jays, and the strength and conditioning coaches from the New York Yankees and Indiana Pacers! Criminal Justice, Education and Social Work are other outstanding programs at this in-state school.
