I had the opportunity to watch Mrs. Werner's kindergarten students retell the story, The Gingerbread Man. During this unit students practiced retelling a story identifying characters and settings. The students also learned to sound like the characters, feel what the characters are feeling and thinking of punctuation to figure these things out. Pictured is the baker and his wife making the Gingerbread man. The next two photos are of some of the animals the Gingerbread Man encountered, who tried to catch him to eat.
