First and second graders from Mrs. McCall's class read different books featuring the gingerbread cookie. There are many different versions of the story featuring different characters such as the Gingerbread Boy, Gingerbread Man, Gingerbread Girl and even a Gingerbread Ninja. Our class read as many books featuring the famous cookie throughout the week. The students learned about the similarities and differences between the different components of the books such as characters, settings, and the outcome of the story. Activities throughout the week were based on the stories such as completing a sequencing story events activity. To end the week, the students built gingerbread houses out of graham crackers, royal icing, and sweet treats for decorations.
