The Sanford Backpack Program is the largest school pantry in the state of Maine. Supplying over 250 k-12 students with nutrient dense foods each week, we strive to bridge the meal gap that some students may face over the weekends when school meals are unavailable. - No income requirements or paperwork to fill out
If you feel like your family would benefit from a weekly food bag you can either contact your child’s teacher, principal, councilor, or nurse OR email the backpack program directly at lori@strongersanford.org with your child’s name, school, grade, and teacher. You can also email with questions and interest in volunteer opportunities, and or donations.
