School sports and extracurricular activities are essential for both the physical and mental well-being of our student- athletes, and we understand the significant impact the pandemic has had across all aspects of our lives. We wanted to assure you that we have been working hard to provide a safe re-opening of athletics and are following directives from the Maine Principals’ Association (MPA), the Maine Department of Education (DOE), the Superintendents committee, and the Maine Center for Disease Control for this to happen.

We recognize that there are varying degrees of concern about the virus and we certainly understand this. We also recognize that our top priority is the safety of our coaches, student-athletes and their families and we are committed to doing everything we can to provide a safe environment for all as we work toward the re-opening of school and sports.

At this time all Maine high schools are in a holding pattern while we await the newest guidance from the law-makers, and will keep you updated as new information about the beginning of sports surfaces. Our coaches and administrators are equally as anxious to return to our lives, as are our student-athletes, and we are doing our best to ensure this can happen.  Thank you!
