*Please be advised Alumni Stadium (track and turf) is not open for use at this time.  Please refrain from jumping the fences.  We will let you know when the stadium is available for use. *

 

The Sanford High School Scholarship Application is available in the Principals office and/or School Counseling office:  March 13-April 17.  To be included in the graduation scholarship process you MUST complete the application.

 

Students who applied to SRTC (by the 3/6 deadline) will interview with SRTC during the week of 3/23 (primarily the morning of 3/24). Student lists with dates and times of interviews will be sent out to staff via email prior to, custom passes will be distributed to students and the schedule will be posted outside of the school counseling office. See Mrs. Farrell in A234 with any questions. 

The Boys Lacrosse team is looking for two students who would be interested in being managers in charge of taking stats at all the games.  If interested, please see Mr. McLellan in the weight room between 2:30 and 4 Monday through Friday or see Mr. Salls.

Still looking for a DRESS FOR PROM?  Come on out Thursday March 26 to the Annual Adopt a Prom Dress where there is no charge, many accessories also available. This years event will be held 2:20-4:00 located on Second Floor E-Wing.  For more information, see Ms. Williams in Room A242.   Also still taking Donations for New or Slightly used Prom Dresses, Dress Shoes and accessories.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Spring Sports Registration is now open in Family ID.  You can find the link on the athletic web page.  All Spring athletes must have a current physical on file. Any questions stop by the athletic office.

 

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

 

Art Club is in B127 every Thursday until 3:30.

 

Key Club will meet every Monday night @ 6:30.

Tranquil Tuesdays are back during Spartan Time.  Sign up for the library on Tuesdays to read.  No school work or computers, just you and a book. Mrs. Raymond is passionate about reading.  She will kick you out of the library if you are not reading during this time :)

Hey epic gamers, the Video Game Club is now meeting every Tuesday after school from 2:30-3:30.

The Civil Rights Team will meet on Mondays at 2:20 in room B235

The Environmental Club will be meeting on Tuesday mornings at 7:20 in Ms. Wests Room in the Blue wing E222.  Join us to decide what projects we will work on this year...will it be to bring back recycling to the High School or make the cafeteria green.

Peer Helpers will be meeting every FRIDAY in the small cafe beginning at 7:20 (or whenever you can arrive). Help give student tours, Thanksgiving baskets, lunch buddies, Special buddies and much much more! Grades 8-12 are welcome.

Sanford High School and Sanford Regional Technical Center support the FOOD BACKPACK PROGRAM. Students receive backpacks full of non-perishable food weekly to take home. We really need backpacks to make this program happen. Please donate NEW or USED backpacks.  Also, if you would like to know more about these resources please see your School Counselor.

YOUTH CONSERVATION CORPS at Rachel Carson Refuge in Wells

The Northwoods Stewardship Center hires crew members for the Rachel Carson Refuge from Kennebunk and Wells.  You may apply on-line at www.northwoodscenter.org and click on “Conservation Corps” tab. There is a link to their application which is due April 15.  BEST OF ALL – they pick their workers by lottery so everyone stands the same chance!

This local organization is hiring an Intern Crew Leader and a Technical Assistant are available online and from Mrs. Williams in the Career Planning Center.  Duties involve courtesy boat inspections to improve water quality in the Mousam Lake-Square Pond Watershed and installing conservation measures.

 

Wells ocean rescue is now hiring for summer 2020.  Applicants must be 16 years or older.  Please contact Linda Rizzo @ 207-646-7912

 

Community Service Opportunities

 

The boys lacrosse team is looking for someone to video tape each game played.  If interested, see Mr. McLellan in the weight room M-F between 2:45 and 4 or see Mr. Salls.

We currently have some hours available for students willing to help at a fundraiser raising money for the soon-to-open Eastside Youth Center!  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Pattershall in A237.

There is an after school program that runs at Carl J Lamb school.  Starting March 5th-April 16th, the community service changes to Thursdays 3:15-4:15. It is outdoor club, so we play games and do activities outside 😊 If interested please see Mrs. Bourque in A241.

For Spoiled Pets is a non-profit organization located in Lebanon which takes in rescued animals.  If anyone is interested in volunteering to get hours they can email Renee @ forspoiledpets@gmail.com

 

Curtis Lake Church Soup Kitchen needs help every Wednesday and Thursday from 5:00pm on setting tables, serving meals and cleaning up. See Mrs. Pattershall in Room A237 if interested. Serve once, or as often as you need/want.
