Ms. Greene's 5th grade homeroom class was invited to participate in a STEM activity, learning coding using Sphero robotics and iPads. Ms. Cole and Mrs. Rosa, Sanford Schools' Technology Integrators brought this opportunity to us over several days. The activity involved coding, mathematics and teamwork, and integrated the topics we used in the tech challenge: GPS coordinates, longitude/latitude, and specific locations where students had to code their robots to drive. The Spheros were awarded from a grant Ms. Cole wrote, and the chariots you see were printed by Mrs. Miliano in the CJL library, using 3-D printing!
