Spreading the cheer with May Day baskets.

Have you heard of May Day? Long ago, people would spend the last few days of April collecting flowers and small treats to fill baskets. They would then hang these baskets on the doors of friends and neighbors on May 1st to show their affection. During the month of April, every CJL student made a May basket with Mrs. Miliano in the library. Today all of the students’ baskets were delivered to different classes so that every child would receive a basket made by his/her peers. Ms. Greene’s 5th graders also made baskets for every CJL staff member. What a fun and thoughtful way to start the month of May at CJL!
